Teaching approach

Technique through meaningful music.

Technique, tone, articulation, reading, and musical expression develop together through thoughtfully selected repertoire. Lessons are tailored to the student’s interests and goals so each new skill has a clear musical purpose.

Practice expectations

Practice grows with the student.

Assignments are adjusted to the student’s level, with an emphasis on consistent daily playing and gradual growth.

Beginning

Play each assigned song three to five times each day. The number of repetitions gradually increases as the student develops.

Late beginner

Practice about 10 minutes every day, gradually increasing the length of each practice session.

Intermediate

Practice about 20 minutes every day.
